Photography and International Conflict - New web resource
The School of Creative Arts and The Clinton Institute for American Studies are pleased to announce the launch of their 'Photography and International Conflict' website. This project has been funded by an Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences Thematic Project Grant. Prof. Liam Kennedy, Director of the Clinton Institute, is its primary investigator and is working in collaboration with Dr. Justin Carville of IADT, who is the secondary investigator, on the project.
We hope the website will be a valuable educational resource for those interested in or teaching on this broad topic. It contains short, written and illustrated commentaries on various histories, theories and case studies of relevance to the project's subject area as well as a gallery space, a Featured Photo section to prompt discussion with site visitors, and video recordings of our conference proceedings to date. We will soon be adding a section containing interviews with photographic practitioners, media industry personnel and NGO staff working on issues of visual representation.
We encourage you to forward the site's address to other colleagues and contacts who might find it interesting and would be delighted to hear feedback from you.
